Question

I really want to print my blog in a book, however I have not blogged much and I am missing a lot of happenings from this year.  I want to go back and blog those happenings with the correct date on them.  So, my question is how can I change the date on my blog post?  I have gone to a few blogs and noticed that they have back dated some of their blogs.  If you know anything please help.  Thanks.

Funny Face

I know all of Lucas' fans have been dying for a picture of him so here you go. Every time we ask him to make a funny face this is what he does.

When he saw this picture he just had a smile like man that is a good funny face. Anyway hopefully more blogging to come.

Update on us we are in Ann Arbor and almost settled. Ned has started work and is liking it. Lucas seems to be liking it I asked him yesterday if he would like to go back to live Mary's in Chicago or stay here, and he told me he wanted to stay at "Lucas's house". I think that is a good sign he is getting settled. Also after his first Sunday in nursery when he was walking out of church he spotted the nursery room and said "I love church". It is taking me a little longer to love it here, but life is definitely easier here than Chicago and I am sure that in time I will adjust. I think things are going to be really good in Ann Arbor.

Trip to Mobile

In March Lucas and I took a trip to Mobile. It started out as a ten day trip, but turned into a 3 week trip. The weather was great and it was fun to have time to spent with friends and family. Here is what we did:
Learned to paint with a brush
Ate lots of watermelon
Made new friends

Played at the park. Lucas thought that this dinosaur was his and would get so made when anyone else rode on it.
Helped Grandpa clean the pool
Played at Pump it Up
Rode the merry go round with Mimi
Played at the Beach
Played with any toy he could find
Played at Dardy and Gus's, and fed Hibu (the dog) a lot.
Played in the hot tub

Wore a hat like Grandpa

Cedar Point

A couple of months ago we went with some friends, Eric, Katie, and Blake Jensen, to the "roller coaster capital of the world", Cedar Point. It is only 5 hours away and we were able to get a great deal on a hotel on priceline so we had to go. It did not disappoint. There were so many roller coasters that we were not able to go on all of them in one day. Lucas also enjoyed it he was able to go on quite a few rides. I think this is going to become a yearly event. After that we drove over to a small town on Lake Erie and enjoyed the town festival.
Lucas was able to ride this all by himself. I was so nervous for him to go alone that he might jump out. Before the ride was over he was so bored that he kept yelling "All done" and throwing his arms in the air doing the "all done" sign.
Ned taught him to put his arms in the air right when the car picks up speed.
Ned tried to ride this with Lucas. If you can't tell he does not fit. This is the employee telling him he is too big and laughing while doing it.
Hugging Snoopy
We rode this bus over and over again.
Speaks for itself

Lucas turns 2!!

About a month ago Lucas turned two. Ned and I were of course sad that he is growing up, but we are really loving this age so I have to just enjoy the moment. The day was a lot of fun we went to the Gymboree play time with a friend, then after Ned got home from school we took him to Chuck E Cheese, and then we took him to Toys'R Us to get his present. Lucas loved Chuck E Cheese and could not believe his eyes when he saw a gigantic mouse and bear singing he just stared. He also enjoyed a bob the builder ride which he went on over and over again. He got to have pizza his favorite. I also made him an elmo cake and that was probably the highlight for him, two of his favorite things put together in one. It was all around a success however we stayed out too late which then caused the following reaction.

Notice the name tag he is wearing. He received that morning at gymboree play and insisted on wearing it for nap then saving it and putting it back on when we got home.

on the bob the builder ride

Finally ready to enjoy his cake

Here is a lengthy video of him blowing out his candles. You should be warned I sound pretty annoying in it, but Lucas is cute so this is for his fans.

Lucas is all grown up

I decided when Lucas was one that I would take away his binky at 18 months the exact date October 1. Well, as that date approached I couldn't do it I knew we had the 6 week trip to Utah coming up, and I felt like he and I needed that security. So when we got home at the beginning of January it was time to take it away. I cried more than he did because I knew he was a little boy and not my baby. That morning he woke up and I talked to him about how babies have binkies and he is not a baby any more so we needed to throw his away. I took him to the garbage can and asked him to throw his binky away. At which point he threw away the dinosaur in his other hand. We talked a little bit more and he started to throw his binky away, but grabbed it out of the trash as soon as he let go. I knew we had to take a different approach so I let him suck on it for a minute and I cried for a minute. I decided we were both too weak so he sat on my lap and we cut the nipple off that way he knew it was on purpose and he would not keep bothering me to fix it. We gathered all the binkies and cut the nipples off and threw all of them, but one away. He accepted that, but the rest of the day he kept the cut binky in his mouth. If it fell out (which it did often) he would put it back in. That night I threw away the final cut binky. He was really a champ through the whole thing and it was rather painless. Although, I have to say a few days after I took it away he woke up kind of early and would not go back to sleep so I tore apart the house looking for a binky. We did not have any because I knew I was too weak to have one in the house so I threw them all away. I have to say I have loved that Lucas took a binky and the little bit of effort it took to break the habit was totally worth all those moments when he was a baby and I just didn't know how to soothe him.
