Easter 2011

We had a fabulous Easter that kicked off at the beginning of April when the Easter Bunny arrived at the mall.    Lucas was so excited to see the Bunny, but was disturbed that the he could not talk with him since he went to ask him some questions.  He had planned to ask the Easter Bunny "what do you eat and where do you sleep" (I guess that is what a 4 year old thinks about).  Anyway, he was upset when the conversation was one sided, but things turned around when he got candy and bunny ears.  Needless to say we returned about 5 times, and of course I never had his picture taken.

Then when Easter weekend arrived we were able to spend time with friends as this was our last weekend in Ann Arbor.  Saturday morning we had a brunch as well as an easter egg hunt with our beloved ward friends.  Then that evening we had another Easter Egg and a delicious dinner with more friends.

Late Saturday night Mom arrived so it was very nice to have her for the holiday.  Sadly Sunday morning I  did not take pictures, but the Easter Bunny did visit our house and left plenty of candy as well as a alphabet magnet for both kiddos.  Although,  Lucas believes it is just his and pushes it high enough on the refrigerator so Penny cannot play with it.   No pictures of their Easter outfits because we are always late for church and then after church we are not focused enough, but I assure you they looked darling.

That evening we invited ourselves over to one of our favorite friend's house for dinner.  Then on Monday we dyed easter eggs with one of Lucas's best friends.
very focused on finding the eggs

My cute boys, I love them!  It was not raining that day it was actually beautiful Lucas just insisted on wearing his rain boots.

Penny was there

FUMCN Preschool

Lucas attended preschool last year and he loved.  It was a play based preschool so I am not really sure how much learning he did, but he was able to do things that I would have never done with him.  He also made great friends and he learned more independence.  It was a coop preschool so I was able to help out during preschool this was fun and annoying.  I really loved his teacher and so did he.  The last day he went to school was his birthday so that was extra special.  After we moved to Rhode Island we received a DVD from his class.  We watched and he said he was so sad and missed his friends.  It was a really great experience for both of us.
Ms. Mary
Ms. Juli, it was after school and Lucas was being grumpy so I had to sneak this picture in.
There was a box maze the size of the room
Lucas the firefighter
Playing the bananas.  Notice Ethan the other boy playing bananas.  Most of the pictures from preschool with Lucas had Ethan next to him.  They are so cute together.
Lucas's birthday cupcakes
Ethan and Lucas holding up their surfboards they made on Beach Day.
I think this picture is from his first day of preschool.  I miss his hair.
Riding his surf board.
I am not sure why he is grumpy.
His favorite part of preschool playing on the playground.  Too bad in the winter it took so long to get the kids dressed that play time lasted about 5 minutes.
Ethan and Lucas using their dream catchers.
Story book Character Day, Ethan, Lucas, Elizabeth, Sophia, Lily, and Kate.
Isaac, Lily, Kate, Lucas, and Ethan.  Lucas is dressed up like Curious George, and the costume is a size 18-24 month which explains the arms.  What really made me laugh was the fact he wanted to wear the gloves that were attached to the arms.  His hands would get so sweaty and man was it hard to get his hands in and out.

Lucas is 4

I cannot believe that my little boy is four.  I feel like at four he really is a kid.  His birthday coincided with our move so we had it at Jungle Java his favorite play place.  It was really fun, and it was a great way to say good-bye to Ann Arbor.  We were able to have one last day with our friends.  I really stink at pictures but here are a few of the event.  Lucas had so much fun that we stayed there for about 4 hours.
The whole group
Ben and Jude
Ashlyn and Spencer
Kate and Annie
Two of my favorite friends, Rochelle and Christi,  and the mothers of Lucas's best friends, Ethan and Jude.
Ali and Quinn.  Ali is the best visiting teach ever without her I think I may have never liked Ann Arbor.
Quinn is obsessed with Penny and every time he saw her he would love on her even kiss her on the lips.  Kind of gross, but mostly so cute.

Some things about Lucas right now:
  • Anytime there is something that Lucas wants to do but I am either ignoring him or he knows I will not agree to.  He ends it with "..is that a deal".
  • Loves his sister except when she is playing with his toys.  Now that she is moving it makes him nuts.
  • Recently has gotten interested in letters and either knows there name or the sound they make.
  • His favorite thing to do is play with his dad at the park.
  • He often tells either Ned or I that the other agreed to something even though we have not.  Usually, it happens in the morning after Ned has left so I can't verify it was said.  For example Lucas will say "Dad said I could have a cookie for breakfast" which Ned never said.
  • He loves dancing and doing Kung Fu moves.  He does a very funny bum dance.
  • He is still a great sleeper and takes naps almost every day, and at night he recently afraid of the dark.
  • He is constantly talking to me about driving the signs, the lights, and most of the time what I am doing is wrong.
  • He is really bossy and lately he I have had a lot discussions about who is the boss.  It always ends with him agreeing that I am the boss, but then he always adds in that he cannot wait till he is the boss.
  • Lucas loves dress up and pretending to be another character most often it is a super hero, but sometimes it is Peter Pan,  Captain Hook, Werewolves, Monsters.
